A picture is worth a thousand words. An animated, narrated picture is worth a thousand still images. A simulated environment or game is worth a thousand animated, narrated pictures.

FlashYourBrain.com is a small (hopefully growing) collection of educational multimedia games, animations, and simulations built with Flash.

History:

I had one of my pieces, The Ways Fossils Form, online for many years and soon noticed that over time I was getting thousands of hits on it per month. So I decided to build a site dedicated to it and similar projects I've done over the years, in the hopes that these additional pieces might be of interest to people.

This really is what I love doing. I am fascinated by the fact that there are some things that simply should not be taught through lecture or book reading. Instead, a simulation, game, or even narrated animation gives learners an opportunity to interact with the content, experiment, and even fail.

I will try to add more as I build them, so check back if you like.
